American Oak Old & Rare Single Cask HH0106 was filled on the 20th of December, 1999 and decanted on the 15th of June, 2019 for a maturation of eighteen years and six months. After such a long maturation, this 200-litre American oak ex-bourbon cask yielded only 215 bottles at 47.5% abv. As one of the oldest Australian single malt whiskies ever released, this bottling is a true piece of whisky history and has incredible texture, complexity and length of palate.
Each bottle comes in a unique, hand made, solid oak presentation box, and includes a letter of authenticity signed by our Head Distiller.
Nose: Wow. Chocolate orange and cloves jumping out with a syrupy, floral musk perfume. Pecan pie, toasted malt, toffee, light black pepper and of course that old fashioned Sullivans Cove banana sundae vibe.
Palate: Banana flower, pimento and worn leather. Creamy malt, dark brown sugar and rich molasses.
Finish: Dates and fig jam leads to banana and pecan ice cream with a long leathery finish and the lingering nuttiness of sunflower seeds.
