The Glencairn whisky glass was originally designed by Glencairn Crystal Ltd with the aid of master blenders from five of the largest whisky companies in Scotland. The shape of the glass is derived from the traditional nosing copitas used in whisky labs, specifically curved to aid in nosing whisky. In 2006 the glass won the Queen's Award for innovation, is the first style to be endorsed by the Scotch Whisky Association, and it is used by every whisky company in Scotland and Ireland. We can't let them have all the fun though, so we brought a bunch to Hobart to use for all of our tastings at the distillery. Now we've stuck our logo on it, so you can drink with conviction, too.
Each glass holds approximately 175 ml (intended to hold up to 50 ml).
