HH0476 was distilled in September of 2000 and decanted in April of 2018 for a maturation of seventeen and a half years. Aged in a single, 200L American oak ex-bourbon cask, this is one of the last remaining single cask whiskies from that era of Sullivans Cove, and one of the oldest Australian single malts ever released.
Each bottle of Sullivans Cove Old & Rare comes in a unique, hand-made, solid oak presentation box, and includes a letter of authenticity personally signed by our Head Distiller Patrick Maguire and Production Manager Heather Tillott.
Nose: Berries, waxy flowers, candied ginger, mandarin rind, brioche, a hint of floral perfume, and lots of pear.
Palate: An explosion of mandarin on a sweet vanilla base along with a bonanza of tropical fruits through in the mid palate. Top notes of pepper and pine forest keep things freshly balanced.
Finish: Vanilla, coconut and preserved fruits with a malty cocoa line that drives the finish and lingers almost indefinitely.
